Emma Knight - Bloom and Baby Doula
🌿
Birth & Postnatal Doula in South West London

Hello!
I’m Emma Knight, a doula and mum of three, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks with their baby.

I offer calm, continuous doula support through pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care, helping you feel more informed, steady, and supported through this transition into parenthood.

My role is to walk alongside you during pregnancy, birth, and those early weeks so you do not feel like you are doing it alone, whether you are doing this with a partner or navigating it on your own.
🌿A little about me
Outside of doula work, life is full, messy, and very normal.

I love baby cuddles, long dog walks, cooking big nourishing meals, and baking things that are absolutely unnecessary but always worth it. I am usually either planning something for the community or in bed early with a good book or a gripping drama.

I care deeply about the world we are raising our children in. I teach climate education in local schools and started a grassroots recycling initiative in my community. Fairness, kindness, and curiosity matter to me, and I will always gently speak up when something does not feel right or needs more attention.

That sense of advocacy naturally runs through my doula work. You are in one of the most powerful, life-changing times of your life, and also one of the most vulnerable, whether you are sharing it with a partner or doing it as a single parent. I never lose sight of that.

🌿Why I became a doula
Birth has fascinated me for as long as I can remember.

There’s something astonishing about how instinctive it is. Our bodies are genuinely incredible. When they are given the right support and space, they often know exactly what to do.

I once read that a woman in a coma can give birth, and that stayed with me. It says so much about how deeply rooted and powerful this process is. Birth is not something we have to force or control in the way we are often led to believe.
But most of us weren’t raised with that belief.

We grow up with images of bright hospital lights, people shouting instructions, legs in stirrups, emergencies unfolding. No wonder so many people approach pregnancy and birth feeling nervous, disconnected, and unsure how to trust themselves in the room.

For me, pregnancy and birth became a huge mindset shift.

I explored breathwork, mindfulness, and how to soften into the process instead of bracing against it. I wanted to keep things as natural and physiological as possible, and with the right preparation and support, I was able to labour in water and birth two of my babies that way.

Those experiences changed how I saw myself completely. They showed me what is possible when you feel informed, supported, and connected to your body rather than afraid of it.
🌿How it began
After being made redundant, I found myself at a crossroads.

It felt like a pause I hadn’t planned for, but in hindsight it was the moment I finally had space to follow something I had been quietly drawn towards for years.

I trained as a doula, and everything just clicked into place.

Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks with their baby felt instinctive. It felt like work that mattered in a very real, human way.
I haven’t looked back since.
🌿Supporting you through it all
As a doula, I am here to support you and your partner, or support you on your own, through one of the biggest transitions of your life.

It always starts with understanding. When you feel informed about your options and what is happening along the way, you can move through pregnancy and birth in a way that feels more grounded and intentional.

When labour begins, I bring continuity of care, a calm and familiar presence who already knows you. I support you emotionally and practically, helping you stay connected to your choices and instincts as things unfold.

I do not take over your experience. I stay alongside it, so you feel supported rather than directed.
🌿Life after birth
Then comes the bit after the baby arrives, the messy, magical, slightly surreal postnatal period.

Even with support around me, I remember feeling overwhelmed with my own babies. Definitely with number one, but especially with number three. There were moments I thought, how am I meant to do this? How is anyone meant to do this?

That is why I care so much about postnatal support.

Whether it is holding your baby so you can nap, cry, or shower in peace, helping with dishes, talking through your birth story, or just being someone who gets it, I am there. The transition into parenthood is a lot. You don’t have to do it alone.
