Postnatal doula support
Calm, practical and emotional support in the early days
The early days with a newborn can feel deeply special, but also intense, emotional, and at times overwhelming.
โ
It’s completely normal to find yourself wondering
is this normal? am I doing this right?
โ
You’ve just been through something huge. However your birth unfolded, this is a big transition.
โ
My role is to bring calm, practical, in-home support so you feel more rested, more confident, and less alone as you find your feet with your baby.
I’ve supported families through these early weeks enough times to know that no two days look the same. That’s why my support adapts with you.
โ
This isn’t about taking over. It’s about supporting you in a way that makes everything feel lighter.
โ
Some days that might mean sitting beside you while you feed and talk things through. Other days it might be holding your baby so you can sleep, shower, or just have a moment to yourself.
โ
If you have a partner, I support them too so they feel confident and involved. If you’re doing this on your own, you are not expected to carry everything alone.
โ
This is about helping you feel held, not overwhelmed.
โ
Practical and emotional postnatal support
My care is grounded in three key areas:
โ
๐ฟCare, For You, Not Just the Baby
Space to rest, recover, and be supported without judgement. This can include baby care while you sleep or shower, help around the house, or time to talk through your birth experience if needed.
โ
๐ฟConfidence in newborn care
Gentle, evidence-based guidance on feeding, sleep, and understanding your baby’s cues. No overwhelm, just clear, practical support to help you trust yourself more each day.
โ
๐ฟCalm, ongoing reassurance
You are not left on your own between visits. I’m available via WhatsApp for questions, reassurance, or those moments when you just need a steady voice.โ

How it works
Every family is different, and your needs in the early weeks will naturally change as you find your rhythm.
โ
That’s why postnatal support is flexible and shaped around you.
โ
Support usually begins with a minimum 15-hour package, often delivered as 3-hour home visits across the first few months, but we decide together what feels right.
โ
This includes:
๐ฟA relaxed introductory call to talk through what you need
๐ฟA pre-birth visit (if booked during pregnancy) to prepare your postnatal plan
๐ฟIn-home support that blends practical help, emotional care, and newborn guidance
๐ฟOngoing flexibility so we can adjust as your needs change
โ
Some families want more support in the early days, others prefer to spread visits out over a longer period.
โ
There’s no fixed formula.
โ
Additional hours can always be added if you need more support.
โ
You’re not expected to know exactly what you’ll need. We figure it out together.
How I support you
Support is always led by what feels most helpful to you on the day.
โ
This might include:
๐ฟHolding your baby so you can rest, shower, or take a break
๐ฟSitting with you while you feed and gently supporting if needed
๐ฟTalking through your birth experience
๐ฟHelping you understand your baby’s cues and rhythms
๐ฟLight household support like laundry, dishes, and tidying
๐ฟCooking simple, nourishing meals
๐ฟSupporting older siblings or the wider family dynamic
๐ฟSharing trusted resources if you need extra support
๐ฟBeing there for the questions that pop up at 2am
โโ
If it helps, I can wear your baby so they stay close and settled while I get things done around the house.
โโ
You also have ongoing access to me between visits, so you’re not left figuring things out alone.
