Birth & Postnatal Support

Every pregnancy, birth, and early postnatal experience is deeply individual.

And yet, so often support is broken into separate parts, antenatal here, birth there, postnatal somewhere else.

This package is different.

This is continuous, connected support that follows you through pregnancy, labour, birth, and into the early weeks at home with your baby.

You are not handed from one service to another. You are held by one consistent presence who knows your preferences, your story, and what matters most to you.

This is for families who want more than birth support alone.

It is for those who want to feel prepared in pregnancy, supported in labour, and gently guided as they settle into life with a newborn.

Not rushed. Not fragmented. Just steady, familiar care throughout.

What your continuity support looks like

This is a fully integrated package that supports you from preparation to postpartum recovery, designed to hold you through every stage of the journey.

Rather than separate services, everything flows together into one connected experience of care.

🌿 Pregnancy preparation and antenatal support

We begin in pregnancy, where we lay strong foundations for your birth and beyond.

You will have space to slow down, ask questions, and understand what is ahead without overwhelm.

Together we explore:

  • How labour actually works in the body and mind

  • What your choices look like in real life, not just on paper

  • How to prepare emotionally, practically, and physically for birth

  • How your birth partner can feel confident and involved

Hypnobirthing is woven naturally throughout, not as theory, but as practical tools you can actually use, breathing, relaxation, mindset, and simple techniques that help you feel grounded and steady.

This is not about creating a rigid plan.

It is about building trust in yourself, your body, and your ability to navigate birth as it unfolds.

🌿 Birth support and continuous presence

When labour begins, I join you when the time is right and remain with you throughout.

My role is to stay close and responsive, helping you move through each stage with calm, steady support.

This may include:

  • Hands-on comfort measures such as positioning, massage, and breathing support

  • Emotional reassurance and grounding presence

  • Helping your birth partner feel confident and involved

  • Supporting communication with your care team when needed

This is continuous care, not shift-based or time-limited.

You are not left alone or handed between providers. I stay with you through the full experience.

🌿 Early postnatal care and transition into parenthood

After your baby is born, support continues into those first hours and beyond.

I stay with you to help you settle, feed your baby, rest, and gently begin to process your birth experience.

In the days and weeks that follow, support can include:

  • Feeding support (breast, bottle, or combination)

  • Newborn care guidance in a calm, non-judgemental way

  • Emotional reassurance as you recover and adjust

  • Practical help so you can rest and heal

  • Space to talk through your birth story if you want to

  • Light household support so life feels more manageable

This is about protecting your energy in a time of huge transition, so you can focus on recovery, bonding, and finding your rhythm as a family.

Birth & Postnatal Doula Roadmap

🌿 Let’s connect

We begin with a relaxed discovery call where you can talk through your pregnancy, your hopes for birth, and the kind of support you are looking for.

This is also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for whether we are a good fit.

🌿 Welcome pack and booking

After our call, I will send you a welcome pack with full details of my support.

If you choose to move forward, I will send a contract and your booking is secured with a deposit.

From this point, your support officially begins.

🌿 Getting to know each other

We meet for a relaxed coffee morning (or home visit) to get to know each other properly.

This is a chance to build familiarity, talk through any early questions, and start shaping your support in a calm, informal way.

🌿Antenatal preparation

You will have 3 x 3-hour antenatal sessions in your home.

These sessions are tailored to you and your preferences and typically cover:

  • How labour works and what to expect

  • Birth choices and decision making in real time

  • Comfort measures, movement, and labour coping techniques

  • Birth partner preparation and support role

  • Emotional preparation and mindset work (including hypnobirthing tools woven in naturally)

  • Practical preparation for labour and the early postnatal period

You also have access to:

  • My pregnancy and birth resource library

  • Recommended books, podcasts, and evidence-based information

  • Optional TENS machine and labour comfort tools

🌿 On-call period

From around 10 days before your due date, I am on-call for you 24/7.

You can contact me at any time if you think labour is starting or if you are unsure.

When labour establishes, I join you at home or in your chosen place of birth.

🌿 Labour and birth support

I stay with you continuously throughout labour and birth.

My role is to provide calm, practical and emotional support, which may include:

  • Comfort measures such as positioning, massage, and breathing support

  • Helping you stay grounded and focused as labour progresses

  • Supporting your birth partner so they feel confident and involved

  • Helping communicate with midwives if needed

  • Maintaining a calm and steady environment throughout

I remain with you into the early postnatal period after birth.

🌿 Immediate postnatal support

After your baby is born, I stay with you for those early hours to help you:

  • Begin feeding and settling with your baby

  • Rest and recover after birth

  • Process your experience if you want to

  • Feel supported as you transition into early parenthood

🌿 Postnatal support (15 hours included)

You receive 15 hours of in-home postnatal support, usually taken as flexible 3-hour visits across the first 6 weeks or so.

This support is shaped around your needs and may include:

  • Feeding support (breast, bottle, or combination)

  • Newborn care and understanding your baby’s cues

  • Emotional reassurance and birth debriefing

  • Practical household support (light cooking, tidying, laundry)

  • Baby wearing so you can rest or eat while your baby is settled

  • Support for partners and siblings where needed

Between visits, you also have WhatsApp support for reassurance and questions.

🌿 Additional continuity support

Alongside your core package, you also have access to:

  • A curated library of books and resources

  • Trusted referrals if additional support is needed

  • Recommended books, podcasts, and evidence-based information

  • Back-up doula cover, so you are always supported if I am unavailable

🌿 Closing support

As your postnatal period winds down, we reflect on your experience and transition out of active support.

I always love it when families stay in touch. Once your doula, always your doula.

I had the pleasure of having Emma as my doula for my first pregnancy. Me and my partner went with the pregnancy and postnatal support package, which was beyond useful. My birthing experience was exactly how I planned and envisaged it to be, and this is a memory which I will have forever. The postnatal support was everything I needed, everything from learning how to bathe a newborn, change a nappy and helping to get some extra sleep. I would recommend Emma in a heart beat
